I suck at shooting football. Right before this picture was taken there was an awesome tackle with feet flying everywhere. It was quite awesome, but I took the picture too late. I'm really bad with my reaction time, but I'm working on it and at the Texas vs. Arkansas game I want to beast it up.
Timing is everything. It comes with practice...Don't give up! Try to focus only on the ball carrier. Forget about who is playing watch the ball, when you think you are about to get a great photo anticipate it and shoot before you think it will happen.
