So I ran out of pictures to blog about so I decided to make a collage of some of the pictures on my phone that have been taken while doing something photography related. I did this because I feel like while we always blog the products of our photographic adventures, we often leave out the memories we make in the process. We are a craaaazy bunch of people and I think that deserves to be documented. Ill just start at the top right and work my way across and down. There you see Cluur and I feeding one another. This was the night of the BIG 72 when were up here for forever. If you look slightly to your right you will see our lacrosse team consisting of Kenz, Carls, Carol and myself. This was the day after we finished the yearbook and had a lot of free time. Sliding over you'll see Cluur as a matador on Sparkles. This was right before the BIG 72 festivities began. The next one is of Carol and I and a pen that duals as a stylus. We thought this was amazing. If you'll move down and all your way to the right you'll see Joshua Phelps. An Olympic photographic medalist. He was taking inventory on an average day in photography. Next you'll see the senior photographers flocking together at a Rosebuds event. We just can stay away from each other, or be normal. Beside that is a testament of my love and friendship with Cluur. We were up here for hours while she painted my face. Next is MOMMA CRYSTALS VAN. This was right as we got settled in for our trip yo ATPI. Down again and to the right you'll see Woodsies, Cluur and I doing... something... The next picture is of Carol shooting the court presentation. We laughed through like the entire thing about this and looking at it now it doesn't look all that funny. The next is our crazy Uncle Clint in a kilt. Because we love him oh so much we got him this for Christmas. I don't think I'll ever have another teacher that would wear a skirt to school. Beside that one

One of Favorite Assignments
This was one of the more fun assignments. Potter showed me this idea for Yearbook sales and wanted me to recreate it. Essentially Blake is awesome because he has a yearbook and Jacob's a loser because he does not. In conclusion Yearbooks make you cooler. Other than that there's not much to say, it was a pretty easy assignment.

This Is Just Silly
ISO:100
Aperture: f 4.0
Shutter Speed:1/1600
John David wrote a story about the sports we need to have at Texas High. These consist of lacrosse, water polo, and quidditch. The area for the picture was a pretty small hole so we decided to combine all the sports into one picture. Thus the silly picture above ^^^ Bless Jacob's heart for doing this for me. It was quite cold outside and we had to walk a while, and he looks pretty ridiculous. The sky was really bleh today so I made the sky a little bluer in lightroom but that's pretty much all the editing I did.

Wooh Soccer!!
So I walked into Potter's room and was asked if I could go with John David, Brianna and Madeleine to the out of town soccer game. I was quite excited and accepted even though I know soccer is not my strongest sport. Ont he way there we got sooooo lost, but we found it and only missed about 15 minutes...and the first and only point we scored.... I wasn't just thrilled, but oh well! I started shooting anyway. It was a pretty rough game. We were losing for a good chuck of it and while it made for some good pictures, I would have rather captured happy tears. Anyway I did my thing and shot until it was time to go. The next day Potter asked my to email her a strong horizontal picture to go on the website. I sent her thew first one and she was quite happy with it, but Riley wasn't. Oh well! Anyways, that's that.

When Duty Calls!
So, I was chilling in Stat class being a good little student, learning about chi square and such, when the phone rang and I was needed to save the day! (or go take a picture, same thing) I immediately grabbed the camera I had with me and went to go shoot. The assignment as to go take pictures of the special education kids and workers from target working to fix up the special education courtyard. Once I got there I realized My Memory had foiled my plan!! I forgot a battery! So, not allowing the evil My Memory to defeat me, I went inside and called Amy and asked her to bring me a battery. Minutes later, she had arrived and I had everything I needed to complete my mission. I placed the battery in my weapon and began to capture all the workers. After about 20 minutes I successfully captured everyone there and made my way back to class. On my way back I stopped at the headquarters to make sure my mission was definitely completed. Once I was safely inside the director and I began to recount everything that happened (and we talked about the photojournalism class, such sweet little ones). Then I left safety to return to my normal life just in time to transport my supplies to my last period.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

And now we wait...
So I applied to work on staff as a photographer at Harding next year and these are the pictures I sent in with my application. I picked these three because I felt like they showed different aspects of my photography. The top one I feel like is more photo journalistic because it was an actual assignment that I had to shoo that wasn't sports or something planned. The second is sports action, which I think is important. And I kinda am a smidge attached to it. Just look how nicely he's framed!! and theres the last one, which I'm pretty sure this is like the third time it's been on my blog. I mean it's just like "the picture." But anyways, I've sent everything in and now I just wit to schedule an interview. Yay for waiting!

Apocolypse
This was a pretty fun assignment. They were basically writing a silly story about a zombie apocalypse and needed a picture of the school during an apocalypse. Since I had a butt ton of pictures of the school from trying to get the cover picture and I have a fairly good knowledge of Photoshop I volunteered to create this image. I had the whole class telling me things that I should add. My favorite is the cow (that was Claire's idea!). I basically just got images from the internet and cut out things and put it on here. It's supposed to look not real at all.

Room 50 Goes Green
I walked into Pot's room and she told me to go grab a camera and go to the Special Ed courtyard. So, I did. They were doing some environmentally friendly exercises, it was a pretty chill assignment EXCEPT the lighting was terrible!!! It was a bright sunny day and everything was under a huge tree so the shadows were suuuuper harsh and everywhere. But since I couldn't just pick up the tree and move it I just tried my hardest to position myself to where their faces were solid. I don't think they were to bad.

Deadline, Deadline, Deadline
ISO:100
Aperture:2.8
Shutter Speed: 1/1600
Today I was just focusing on getting assignments done for the deadline. This picture was for secondary coverage about students going to college all over the country. Riley was the last one missing so I took hers, but then I realized she had one of those hanger straps showing on her shoulder so I had to take that out, but it wasn't big so I could do it in lightroom. But that's about all I gots to say about this.

Mr. Littmann, Thuggin It
ISO:200
Aperture: 11
Shutter Speed: 1/200
I adore Mr. Littmann. I assigned my self to take this because he has his conference during 1st period. The picture is for secondary coverage about what certain teachers say all the time. Mr. Littmann's
quote is "And remember, be careful out there." I still haven't exactly mastered high key, but I knew he was going to be cut out so I just focused on lighting him well. He took direction very well and over all it was just a pretty basic assignment.

FINALLY!!
ISO: InDesign
Aperture: InDesign
Shutter Speed: Indesign
THE COVER IS FINISHED!! After about 50 hours of straight shooting and countless hours of processing and editing, it is done!!! We ended up only using two of the pictures and making them fade into one another. Even though I'm mildly irked that we didn't use the original timelapse idea, I think this looks 67,864,308,654,756,855,640,543,765,465,043 times better and I very happy with it.

Ugh!!
ISO:1600
Aperture:2.8
Shutter Speed:1/80
ISO:400
Aperture:2.8
Shutter Speed:1/8000
So, my great aunt asked me to take some pictures for her. It was during the break so I just had my camera and a 17-50mm, and it was a briiiight sunny day, and it was super dark in her house AND she has ALS so she's very limited to where she can go. All in all, it was not a photographers dream. The ones inside are dark and grainy and the ones outside everyone is squinting and the shadows are redonkulous. I could have used the window light inside to my advantage, but thats about all I could do given the situation.
